These stories chronicle the adventures of a family that moved from the suburbs to the country mid-life. Some humorous, some heavyhearted, they are all non-fiction. Many are about the mistakes and miscalculations of those unused to a more self-sufficient lifestyle.

The author has a Bachelor’s in English with Research Distinction from The Ohio State University, a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and is the winner of numerous fellowships for writers. After earning his degrees, he taught undergraduate courses for several years at the University of Illinois in addition to serving an elected position as the Associate Head of the Rhetoric Department for a year and a half. He now lives and teaches in Italy while writing part-time.
